Netflix on Linux is Finally Here, Mostly

October 13, 2014

No more watching Netflix in a virtual machine on Linux or going through some hoops and hacks to get it running in a variety of other different ways- like Firefox in Wine. Netflix and Canonical apparently teamed up and made it happen. However, if you really dive into things you'll note it really depends on a recent version of NSS that can be used by Google Chrome. So, it works on any Linux distribution with the needed NSS and Google Chrome and for that, thanks really goes to Google.

Simply install the latest version of Google Chrome on Ubuntu, for example, and you're good to go. Works like a charm on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.
