Alternative to Putty, XWin32, and VNC for Linux Access

December 28, 2004

XLiveCD is a great solution for accessing Linux machines via an SSH environment from Windows while providing a list of commonly used Linux tools in a Cygwin environment. You can run it from the CD without ever installing, or you can simply install it to the hard drive. It has been covered by slashdot and originaly by OSNews. This is a great free alternative to needing something like the very expensive XWin32.
