Clay Shirky: Institutions vs. collaboration
Monday, July 14, 2008
This is a rather interesting talk that takes some very foundational ideas from open source software development, P2P networks, and social networking and implies that these paradigms can apply to a lot more.
You know no one reads your E-Mails when you get replies with "REMOVE" in the subject header.
isnapshot - Incremental Backup Program
Tuesday, December 19, 2006 by digitalpeer
isnapshot performs incremental backups by copying changed files and symlinking unchanged files to a previous full backup. The result is an always available incremental backup with minimal wasted space.
It's meant to be run as a cron job or manually to create quick snapshots of working directories or to do full system backups.
Simply,
./configure
make
su && make install
Then, add a cron job possibly like the following,
02 4 * * * root /usr/local/bin/isnapshot /home /var/www /etc /snapshot_dir
